Dreams are of course your subconcious at work.
The memory of your subconcious is a detailed cross-referencing system.
...Cross-referancing, meaning it relates this event to that event, and this feeling to that one. So when two things are randomly associated, they may actually not be so random. Say in a dream you and your girlfriend are at the cafeteria and then, suddenly, you're in a gazebo, this is probably because you had a similar feeling in both those places, with or about your girlfriend, so this is your subconcious mind working out what is what, and how to gain certain good feeling(s) and how to avoid certain bad one(s). Your mind takes all the components of a good feeling and relates them together: cross-referancing.
Dreams jump from one notion to another, by anywhere from a very vague and meaningless connection, to a very distinct and meaningful connection in the cross-referance system.
Using this system of cross referancing, the (subconcious mind) mind will play out situations it considerers possible, using the feelings and memories and emotions and facts it already has collected; this can be taken as a precognitive experience, or as some sort of other paranormal metaphysical event, telling us something (which is still plausable, and even applicable to this theory, but we won't get into that).) And in reality it is your mind preparing you for possible situations by comparing it (the possible situation[s]) and old situation(s) or (an) old emotion(s) or any number of either of the two.
Now let's take this and apply it to what everyone really cares about: sex dreams. A "sex dream" (or any type of intimate dream) does not imply sexual attraction. A sex dream can be the result of a small thing that someone did that reminded you of sex or of a person you are sexually attracted to. A sex dream can be the subconcious mind wondering if certain situations could work out well with that person. There is no reason to be ashamed of the sex dreqam, unless of course the person who it is about subscribes to a different theory and believes them to mean somethign else, which is quite usually the case. But just like any other dream, it is just the cross-referancing system becoming greater and greater, replacing old information with ne information., simplifying the world so we can sleep better at night.
So sleep well.
